• A WorldWeb.com Travel Guide to Bodies of Water in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
One of Canada's major rivers, the Saskatchewan River flows across the province to eventually drain into Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba. Approximately 500 km (340 mi) long, the river is formed by the North and South Saskatchewan Rivers, which flow from Alberta's Rockies. The river, and the province, take its name from a Cree word meaning "swift flowing river."
