Located in west-central Saskatchewan, the City of North Battleford is an exciting year-round destination where history, adventure and culture meet. The city's history dates back to 1876 when the North West Mounted Police established a fort at the point where the Battle and North Saskatchewan Rivers converge. Both the Fort Battleford National Historic Site and the Western Development Museum are devoted to educating visitors on different aspects of the area's early years, while the North Battleford Sports Museum and Hall of Fame contains displays on the city's sporting history. Visitors can enjoy the outdoors playing 18 holes at the North Battleford Golf and Country Club in the summer, and sking or snowboarding one of the many runs at Table Mountain Regional Park in the winter. In addition, activities such as dog-sledding, paintball and ziplining await at the Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Centre. Culture-lovers will be impressed with the exhibitions on display at the Allen Sapp Gallery which shows work by its renowned Cree namesake alongside pieces by other First Nations and Inuit artists.
